For this community art opportunity, students can earn up to 4 Apex+ hours.
The Annapolis SketchCrawl is a public, community-based event where artists of all skill levels gather to sketch and draw in public spaces around Annapolis, Maryland. Participants meet at a starting point, before fanning out to capture the city's architecture, energy, and scenes through their chosen creative tools, and then reconvene to share their work and socialize. Apex Arts participants will be led by Guest Artist Mary Rosoff.
Community and Creativity: It's a casual, supportive environment for artists to connect and share their passion.
Outdoor Adventure: You'll be actively exploring the city, drawing inspiration from the local scenery and public spaces.
All Skill Levels Welcome: The events are designed for everyone, whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist.
Variety of Media: You can use any drawing materials you prefer, such as pencils, paints, charcoal, or digital tools. You can also opt for photography or writing - be inspired to create as you go!
Structured but Relaxed: There's a planned start and end time and location, but no strict rules about what or how to draw.
Students should bring a sketch book and items to draw with, a tablet for digital work, and/or a camera for photography - whichever medium works best. Students will be creating throughout the event, inspired by the Annapolis Historic District.
