Coach Vander Klay is a 1982 Park graduate.
A 1986 Hope College cum laude graduate,
The 1986 Vanderbilt Award Winner,
ALL-MIAA Athlete,
He has taught and coached at The High School since 1986
After 10 years as the JV coach (Four JV Championships), he became the Head Coach at Park in 1995.

Coach Vander Klay has guided the Wyoming varsity basketball teams to
ten Academic All-State teams,
ten conference championships,
six district championships,
a regional championship,
and a Final Four.
32 of 38 teams have been in the top three in the conference.
He has four times been named Regional Coach of the Year
The Detroit News State Coach of the Year in 2004.
