The art curriculum for Kindergarten students is centered around the idea of process over product. Exploration of different concepts, media, and processes will guide Kindergarten students towards their own understanding of art and art making. Students will be introduced to the 7 Elements of Art to gain a basic understanding of these terms, how to represent them visually, and why they need to know them to create works of art. The Elements of Art are: line, shape, color, texture, form, space and value. In addition, an emphasis is placed on developing fine motor skills, material care, and student safety in art class.
