Today students celebrated International Day of Peace by creating pinwheels and displaying them in the front of Claypit Hill School. The pinwheels are part of a global project called Pinwheels for Peace. You can learn more about the project online at www.pinwheelsforpeace.com.
In art class, first grade through fifth grade students decorated their pinwheels with symbols, colors, patterns and words that represented peace. Kindergarten students worked on representing things that make them happy on their pinwheels. Mrs. Wales' fifth grade class then curated our installation by arranging the pinwheels outside. Check out some of the pictures from today, below!
The installation will only be outside for one day! If you are not able to stop by to see it in person be sure to check out the display at the front entrance of the school.
