In case you missed the eNews this week, here is the information that was sent home to families:
If you can believe it, September has already come and gone. Claypit Hill Students have gotten off to an amazing start in art class this year! The creativity is contagious. As we move further into the school year, here are some important notes and some exciting new developments happening in the art room!
The Claypit Hill art room has it’s own website! Be sure to check it out for all things art and to stay updated on the big events happening in the art room.

We also have an Instagram account where you can find day-to-day updates on what is going on in art class for all grades. Our username is: claypithillart
If you do not use Instagram you can still view our updates by going to:

Students will begin to use an online art portfolio service called Artsonia. This is a website that provides students with a safe space to learn how to create art portfolios in today’s digital age. All parents and guardians will be receiving an email soon that will ask for your permission to allow your student’s artwork to be posted online. In addition to your students artwork being available to view, you will also have the opportunity to purchase your student’s artwork on various keepsakes. Twenty percent of the proceeds generated through Artsonia will be used to help purchase art supplies for the school. If you have any questions or concerns about this program you can contact me directly or view more here:

Lastly, as students start to delve into more complex projects, that means their art materials could start to get messy! Please be sure to dress your students in clothing that is appropriate for art class. Most of the materials we use are washable, and there are always smocks available for your students to wear. It is helpful if you remind your students on their art day to wear a smock! In case your student does come home with something on their clothes, check out this helpful page on our Claypit Hill art website:
