Kansas Crime Stoppers Association-Due Date Mar. 10th
Description: Must be a graduating senior of an accredited Kansas high school. Need a copy of the high school and, if applicable, college transcript, a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, local Crime Stoppers member or law enforcement member, a recent photograph for possible media use; photo will not be returned and an original (not using AI) personal essay describing your future goals and objective. Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #23 Scholarship - Due Date: Mar 10th
Description: Scholarship to a senior in high school in Barton County that has displayed good character. Preference will be given to students that are interested in a Law Enforcement career (Police, Sheriff, Corrections, Jail, Probation, Parole, Court Services, Juvenile Services, etc.). GB Fireman Social & Charity Scholarship - Due Date: Mar 10th
Description: Great Bend Firefighters are offering one (1) $500.00 scholarship to one graduating senior who plans to attend post-secondary education at any Kansas college or trade school. Our objective with this scholarship is to produce new Fire Fighters, EMT / Paramedics, Emergency Dispatchers, or Law Enforcement Officers for possible future employment in Great Bend. Eligibility requirements to qualify for this scholarship are: You must be a Barton County High School Senior, you must show scholastic ability, leadership, and citizenship. Preference will be given to those seeking a career in Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, or Emergency Dispatching. Must be turned into counselor by April 1st.

Description: The VFW Auxiliary #3111 is offering a scholarship to a graduating Senior from Barton County High Schools. This scholarship may be used at any institution of higher learning including trade schools, technical schools, colleges and universities. The applicant should display a financial need, 3.0 GPA or better, and be a good citizen.

H & H Roofing Scholarship - Due Date: Mar 27th
Description: Students must be attending college with intentions to earn a Business Degree or a Construction Trade School Degree. This scholarship was started to give back to the community and encourage students to pursue business and construction trades. This scholarship is for a student in Barton County High Schools (Great Bend, Hoisington, Ellinwood, and Central Plains). Must be turned into Mrs. Randolph by March 27th so she can mail them early.

Barton County Farm Bureau Association-Due Date: April 5th
Description: Applicants must be a high school senior whose parents or legal guardians are current Barton County Farm Bureau members. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Two $500 scholarships are available. Recipients must be full time college students with a minimum of 12 hours per semester, may be attending four year university, community college, or vocational technical school. This is a renewable scholarship.

Catbackers Scholarship (Central Kansas) - Due Date: April 8th
Description: Students in Barton, Pawnee and Stafford counties interested in the Central Kansas Catbacker scholarships must plan to attend Kansas State University in the Fall, must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better, and must complete the scholarship application prior to the filing deadline. Share the google doc with Mrs. Randolph no later than April 8th so she can mail it to them by the 10th.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chpt. 939 Scholarship - Due Date: April 5th
Description: VVA will be offering three $1,000 scholarships for post-secondary education/training. Full application requirements must be postmarked by April 5th but the earlier the better. The applicant should complete a copy of the attached application form, half-page essay, detailed recommendations from 2 teachers and recommendations from one or more employers. Also, evidence of good citizenship (volunteer activities) should be provided, either with the submitted application or under separate cover.

John Hiss Memorial Scholarship - Due Date: Mar 20th
Description: GB Cooperative Association is offering a scholarship to a senior in BT County or surrounding countries. Applicants must attend BCC; show scholastic ability, financial need, leadership & citizenship. Special attention will be given to applicant pursuing an education in an agricultural field, but other applicants will be considered. The scholarship is for $1000 per year for a full-time student. It is renewable for the additional year at BCC at the discretion of the scholarship committee if certain criteria are met.

GBCF - Mingenback Memorial
Description: Must be from Barton County, planning to go to higher education, majoring in health/medical related field, GPA 3.0 or higher. Scholarship awarded at or around $500. Must be completed online only
GBCF Ralph & Elinor Haneke Memorial
Description: Ralph and Elinor Haneke were passionate about education. Ralph, an Ellis High School graduate, who enlisted in the Army during World War II instead of seeking higher education, was a successful, self-taught businessman and certified financial counselor. He was dedicated to helping youth through his work in a church, Boy Scouts, Lions Club, and Habitat for Humanity. Elinor, a Great Bend High School, and Fort Hays State University graduate; whose greatest love other than family were her students, became a 42-year veteran teacher for Great Bend public schools, working at Morrison Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, and finally ending her teaching career at Great Bend High School teaching English.

Description: Our Kansas State University Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by alumni, businesses, and individuals in Barton, Pawnee, Rush, and Stafford counties area. Our donors are deeply rooted in purple and want support local students reach their full academic potential. Not automatically renewable but the student may submit an application for subsequent year(s)

Description: Must be in a Barton County Public High School graduate and resident, Top 10% of the class of graduating high school class, Undergraduate degree with University of Kansas, Preference for those with financial need. Must be completed online only.

GBCF - Vida, Dorothy, & Vivian Archer Scholarship
Description: The Archer sisters have created a scholarship fund for students demonstrating financial need. Must be a full-time student at a KS college, university or community college, show financial need, work experience, extracurricular activities, & community service. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Scholarship awarded at or around $1,500. It is not renewable but the student may submit an application in the subsequent year. Must be completed online only.
GBCF - Ray Cheely Vocational Scholarship
Description: Ray A. Cheely graduated from Great Bend High School in 1971, attended Barton Community College and graduated with an accounting degree in 1975 from Fort Hays State University. He went on to become a Certified Public Accountant. His business, Ray A. Cheely, Chartered specialized in small business accounting and consulting as well as personal accounting and tax returns. He began work in the accounting firm in his junior year of high school and continued until his passing in 2009.
- Barton County high school graduate or Barton County resident for at least two years and plans to continue to reside in the area after program completion
- Must attend an accredited vocational school, trade school, or pursuing a certificate program (not including continuing education or recertification)
- Preference to programs that encourage local entrepreneurship, a better paying local job, or filling a community gap
- Students with a GED, high school diploma, or with an existing college undergraduate degree wanting to make a career change may apply (excludes students with graduate degrees)
This scholarship fund approves multiple educational delivery methods including but not limited to: online; in person; modules; standard, non-standard, compressed, or sequential academic terms or clock hours.
