Home town: McMinnville, Oregon

Science Bio:

I graduated from Portland State University. During and after my degree I worked as a technician at Oregon Health and Science University, and then Thomas Jefferson University investigating CD8 T cell responses to cytomegalovirus infection. I joined the Wobus Laboratory in 2014 as a PhD student in Immunology. My work in the Wobus lab focuses on optimization of culture systems to grow human norovirus, and investigation of immune mechanisms involved in norovirus entry.

"Fun" Bio:

I grew up in the wine country of Oregon in a rural community, and spent most of my time outdoors running, camping, and hiking. I then moved to Portland for college. During my time in Portland I cultivated a love of craft beer, bicycles, and gardening. After college I was offered a research position in Philadelphia. After some time I decided to make my love of science official and applied to graduate schools all over the country. I was fortunate enough to come to Michigan where I am free to further develop my love of science, the outdoors, beer, and bikes.
