The nephrology subspecialty resident will complete assessments of living donation candidates and potential transplant recipients as a component of their training. (EPAs….). These assessments occur sporadically in the outpatient clinics hence advanced planning by the trainee is required for effective scheduling.
These assessments may be completed at any point in training as the trainees schedule permits, however it is recommended they be scheduled during transplant or ambulatory blocks.
At least two weeks in advance of the required assessments, the trainee should email the administrative assistant associated with the living donation and recipient scheduling.
1. For transplant recipient assessments, email Katie Werstiuk (Katie.werstiuk@albertahealthservices.ca) and Hazel Sorriba (hazel.sorriba@albertahealthservices.ca)
2. For living donor assessments, email Stephanie Raposo (Stephanie.Raposo@albertahealthservices.ca) and Nancy Hernandez (nephea@ualberta.ca).
The administrative assistants will identify an attending nephrologist for these assessments. The trainee should contact that nephrologist to confirm attendance at that clinic.
Note: At time of writing (April 2022), living donor clinics are scheduled for Tuesday afternoons only.
