You should expect to have an informal evaluation with each staff that you work with. Ask your attending physician to ensure this happens. Evaluations will consider your skills in history taking and physical examination, knowledge base, professional interactions and ability to communicate as well as your record keeping and organization. In addition, complete your evaluation of the General Internal Medicine rotation. This is your opportunity to improve the rotation and we would appreciate your honest and critical appraisal with suggestions for improvements.
In addition, every one or two weeks, the Attending physicians on the CTUs will complete an in‐training evaluation report (ITER’s) on student interns and residents, based on their own direct observations as well as input from the other house staff, nursing personnel, and allied health care professionals on the wards.
Depending on the level of learner and program they are from, as part of the Competency Based Design (CBD), learners are also required to have entrustable professional activities (EPAs) filled out.
We want this rotation in General Internal Medicine to be interesting and challenging but, most of all, we want it to be fulfilling and rewarding, while meeting your educational needs. If you encounter difficulties, have questions or feel that we could be doing something different (or better) during the course of the rotation you should not hesitate to contact Carrie Hlady, GIM Program Coordinator at (780) 492‐6280 or (carrie.hlady@ualberta.ca).

Students have access to their evaluations using their CCID log-in which they should go through in person on the computer or their phone with their attending physician
If the learner is outside of U of A, they need to present their evaluation form from their training program to the attending physician or they can forward via One45 to Carrie Hlady for distribution as necessary.
