In math class, we are always concerned with what the answer is. You check answers in order to make sure you did the problem right. On standardized tests, you fill in a bubble to show which answer you think is right. On this assignment, I'm going to tell you the answer ahead of time....it's 42, like in hitch-hiker's guide. By that I mean we are going to start out with x=42 and then do operations to each side of the equation in order to 'hide' this answer in a math problem. When you are done, switch problems with someone else and solve theirs. Once you have both solved the other problem, try to create another problem, this time start out with x=4 and go from there.
Requirements
-two parts that require distribution to solve
-two instances of negative numbers
-your problem needs to take at least 4 steps to solve
-your problem needs to be different from all other problems created by students
-your answer needs to be x=42
-please show each of your steps you do to 'hide' the answer and describe what you are doing in each step with words
