Flower Show

2024 Flower Show and Plant Sale – May 11

Co-chairs:  SUSAN COREY & SUSAN PUMA

"We are so excited about our Flower Show this year. We anticipate that it will be one of the most creative and fun shows we have ever presented to the community. We weren’t going to announce the title/theme until January, but of course, Susan Puma couldn’t wait and announced it at the December meeting.

The title is “Flights of Fancy”. When Susan gave the title away, many looked puzzled and were bold enough to ask, “What does it mean?” The answer: It is a phrase used to describe an idea or project that shows great imagination, but is not very practical or likely to happen.

Be assured, our Flower Show will not be a flight of fancy, but with this theme we hope to give your imagination free rein, especially in the Design Division.

Even in the Horticulture Division, though, picture yourself winning the Best of Show rosette and trophy. If you begin now giving your potential entries the care they need, your dream could become a reality. We will have much more information for you at the next meeting, so start imagining."

Booklets and entry cards for this year's show will not be ready until closer to the show date, however,

everything will be similar to past shows, so if you have not entered in the past, you can look at the information below

for the 2022 show to get an idea of the categories and what is needed to enter.

The 2022 Flower Show, a Great Success for the Community and for the Club

“What a fabulous Flower Show TVGC presented to the community this year!”

That was the comment we heard over and over from guests who attended the event.

As Flower Show chairpersons, those are our sentiments as well.

It was totally a team effort and we owe credit for the show’s success to all the members who contributed

their time and talents, sweat and tears (actually we don’t think there were any tears).

We want to say how much we appreciate you and extend a huge THANK YOU to you all.

~The Two Susans

Note:  There will not be a Flower Show and plant sale in 2023; instead, there will be a tour of a few member gardens for TVGC members.

Temecula Mayor, Matt Rahn, presents a community recognition plaque to TVGC.

Flower Show Co-Chairs, Susan Corey

 and Susan Puma graciously accept.

Note:  The Flower Show Booklet and Entry Cards for 2024 are not ready yet.

The info below will be updated when those items have been finalized.

Temecula Valley Garden Club Flower Show and Plant Sale

Saturday April 23, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Gardens in southwest Riverside County are bursting with blooms, just in time for the Temecula Valley Garden Club’s 34th annual Flower Show and Plant Sale. This popular event will take place on April 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Temecula Community Recreation Center at 30875 Rancho Vista Dr. Temecula. Admission is free.

This year’s theme is “Garden Kaleidoscope, The Exciting World of Color”, featuring hundreds of horticultural, floral design and youth exhibits. The TVGC is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc. and California Garden Clubs, Inc. As such, the Flower Show is fully accredited and meets all requirements of a Standard Flower Show as set by the NGC.

TVGC invites everyone to participate in the show either as an exhibitor or guest. The horticultural division provides an opportunity for local gardeners to share their gardening successes and for visitors to see what grows well in the Temecula Valley. The design division gives exhibitors an opportunity to express their creativity through arrangements of plant materials and provide viewers with inspiration to create their own designs.  If you are interested in entering the show, please call 909-455-2253 for information and a show schedule.

Don’t miss the Plant Sale which offers a large supply of nursery quality plants and decorative, unique planters available for purchase at bargain prices.

The Temecula Valley Garden Club presents the Flower Show and Plant Sale to encourage an interest in all phases of home gardening, and to promote better horticultural practices and conservation of natural resources within the community. For more information, contact Jane Payne at 909-455-2253 or janepayne3@verizon.net.

"Preparing Your Entries in the Horticulture Division"

"Preparing Your Entries in the Design Division" This was prepared for the 2019 show and also mentions Photography, and the Opportunity Drawing, and the Plant Sale.  There will be no Photography Division for 2022 (because the room we rented in the past for that is not available).

Please help us spread the word of this event.  Print copies of the 8.5x11 color flyer and give to your friends, neighbors, and strangers.  Thank you.
