RL 13: 1/2 Guard Leave

Summons issued for "Price Manipulation of Controlled Items of State Interest" to D'rgeen. Guild of Tricksters contacted and suggests that the submission of the Book of Wonders to the Magistrate could get the case thrown out at the Temple of Pegana is not favored by the IOL and is in league with the Craftsman's Guild, a guild which now enjoys the least regulation in the city because of this alliance and the threat of the Beast of Mung, divine pet of the High Priest Mung.

D'rgeen placates a swanmay after accidentally "catching" her while fishing (cover action while they explore for entrances to the sewers). He earns her favor as well as the entrance to the sewers.

Assault on the Temple of Pegana

Assault through the sewers encounters Crocmen. It is later discovered that these crocmen are the creation of mung through unlawful experiments. Additionally, a local wizard by the name of Deng is hunting them in the sewers and befriends the group. He seems quite powerful.

An entrance through the bottom of the temple is discovered. Dozens of crocmen are slain, and many people are rescued. Mung is discovered, with his Beast -- he is captured, the beast is destroyed. 3 books are recovered: Metripol Sumariniaque (Jean Congiere), Creaturae Immortatae (Tharsus), and the Necronomicon (Abdul Al Hazred). All three appear indecipherable at first but Mordant believes he can translate them.

The assault continues, facing a Flesh Golem and a noble by the name of Severic Babkib. His family is a respected family involved in shipping, and he commands significant notoriety on his own as the Temple Steward. In his room was discovered the Sword of Welleran, long missing since the Cult of Pegana destroyed the Lawful Good Templars of Welleran, ending that god's influence in the city as well as the region. Rumor abound as to where their knowledge went to and many believe that the rise of the several LG knightly orders is a direct result. Sir Isaac receives the sword, a LG Vorpal Bastard Sword which casts Sunlight in a 10m radius.

The party squares off with the temple guard, from the mercenary guild, as well as the acolytes and remaining priests, 97 in total. The battle rages with the party victorious. However, with the recovery of the sword and the defeat of the cult, the temple begins to collapse, with unnatural sword-shaped marble thrusting through all vestiges of the cult. Additionally, there is a secret temple with a statue of Yog Sothoth, an elder god of darkest power.

Sir Trelnor the Hawk was in the East Gate tower when the temple collapsed and responded. As a Knight of the CSIO, he conducted the investigation and processed everything. The group earned his respect and some favor, and has earned him as a roleplaying contact in CSIO.

RL 14: However, the group has earned the ire of the Craftsman's Guild, and saw fit to depart on.

RL 18: Party arrives in Byrny where they are regarded as Heroes. They treat the town to a feast and a party as well -- much goodwill is had. Mordant does not attend and spends all this time studying the Necronomicon.

RL 20: Arrive in Thunderhold to winter and train for 7 months.

Thawmist 1, BCCC 4434 - Fest of Odin: Group celebrates in Thunderhold. Mordant attends dinner, as a good skandik should, and then retires to study more.
