Week 12: June 1 - June 5

News and Reminders:

Drop off day for Spokane is Monday, June 8th between 1-4 pm. Please return any library books, Mrs. Schuler's readers or any other materials that belong to the school. You do not need to return any of the paper workbooks such as Religion, Math packets, Social Studies My World or Trophies Practice Book.

Music logs need to be submitted weekly, information is available on Mrs. McCarl's site. Participation is graded.

P.E. logs need to be submitted weekly, information is available on Mrs. Taylor's site. Participation is graded.

Tuesday - Read for 15 minutes, record reading in Summer Reading log. Music with Mrs. McCarl. Religion chapter 19 pages 222-225. Reading Eggs for 30 minutes. Phonographix with Mrs. Jutilla. Complete and submit Social Studies My World book Review/Assessment pages 150-152 . P. E. activity for Mrs. Taylor. Math chapter 14 pages 102-104.

Wednesday - Write a silly/funny story and submit final journal entry. Read a story and complete and submit My Opinion worksheet. Religion chapter 19 pages 226-227. Science complete Mammals Crossword Puzzle Page and submit. Math chapter 14 pages 105-106.

Thursday - No School - Graduation Day

Friday - P. E. activity for Mrs. Taylor. Religion chapter 19 pages 228-230 submit Test page 230. Read to self for 15 minutes and record reading in Summer Reading log. Phonographix with Mrs. Jutilla. Science complete Amphibians Crossword Puzzle Page and submit. Math complete/submit chapter 14 Review/Test pages 107-108.


English Language Arts

We use a web based program called Reading Eggs to support reading skills. Students may access this website using the link above or visit http://www.readingeggs.com. The username is fmckinley@stvs.org and the password is firstgrade. Students have been using this program all year and know how to navigate the site once they get signed in. We recommend 30 minutes of practice per week day.

Wednesday: Writing a silly or funny story. Be sure your story makes sense and has a begging a middle and an ending. Have a parent edit your first copy/draft and then complete a final copy into your writing journal with a detailed picture and submit it.

Students should complete the Reading Comprehension worksheet based on a book or story of their choice which they have read this week. Upload completed worksheet on Wednesday.

Math

Math in Focus Chapter 14. Pages 99-101 on Monday. Pages 102-104 on Tuesday. Pages 105-106 on Wednesday. Complete and submit Review and Test pages107-108 on Friday.

The link above is for an excellent addition and subtraction trainer. The program will keep repeating math facts until students master them.

Religion

Students should complete chapter 19 pages 219-221 on Monday, pages 222-225 on Tuesday, pages 226-227 on Wednesday, pages 228-230 on Friday. Submit chapter 19 test, page 230.
