Rules:
All school policies and rules found in the student handbook need to be followed.
2. Bring pencil, book, homework and all needed supplies.
Be on time and prepared for class when the tardy bell rings.
Do not bring gum, candy or any drinks into class.
(One capped bottle of water will be allowed)
Only one student at a time may leave the classroom to use the restroom. (Assignment book needs to be signed)
Cells phones (or any other electronic devices) are not permitted in the classroom.
Follow all laboratory safety procedures during labs.
Grading Policy:
Homework: Homework assignments are to be turned in on the due date to earn FULL credit for the assignment. All checked work will be returned to the students as soon as possible. Assignments turned in after ONE week late will only receive 50% credit. Exceptions will be made on an individual basis depending on circumstances and communications with me.
Laboratory Work: Biology is a laboratory course that will involve numerous in class labs and/or activities throughout each grading period. All of these activities/labs will be turned in and graded. Again, only 50% credit will be given for assignments turned in over a week late. (unless excused).
Tests/Quizzes: Several tests will be given each grading period. All test dates will be announced at least three days in advance to give students ample time to prepare. Quizzes on reading material will be given as necessary throughout each grading period. The quizzes may or may not be announced.
Final Grades: Final grades will be calculated on a total point system. This means that the total number of points a student earns will be divided by the total points possible to obtain the student’s percentage.
Cheating: Cheating on any graded material will not be tolerated and will result in a zero for that assignment and any necessary disciplinary action.

92-85 B
84-76 C
75-70 D
69-0 F
What if I need help?
Most days I am available before and after school to help clarify any misunderstandings. Tutoring period will be devoted only to the students who I write a tutoring pass. I will only write 4 tutoring passes per day.
Make-up work: In the event of an absence students will have five days to complete any quizzes, exams, labs, projects, or assignments. (Note: School events do not count as an official absence, be prepared to complete / hand in work during the next class).
