Follow each of the steps below if you are pasting content into your web page from a document.

1. Paste text into your web page.

2. Remove any pictures that may be included in the material you pasted in.

3. Select all of the text and clear the formatting.

4. Format the text the way you want it on the web page.

5. Insert pictures and format them.

6. Avoid captions for your pictures due to formatting issues.

Complete the checklist below when you believe you are finished editing your web page. A PDF of this checklist is also attached below.

Read through each item carefully. Place a checkmark on the line only after you have made sure that you have fully complied with the direction(s) next to it.

_____ 1. I have a lot of good information about my topic.

_____ 2. My information is logically organized.

_____ 3. I have an appropriate number of relevant pictures.

_____ 4. I have linked words on my page to other appropriate sites where more information

about the topic can be found.

_____ 5. The text size I use on my pages makes them easy to read and is not less than 12

points in size.

_____ 6. I have written my information in my own words. If I am using an exact quote from

some other source, I have placed the quote inside quotation marks.

_____ 7. I have revised my writing so that it expresses my ideas to the best of my ability.

_____ 8. I have carefully proofread my pages for spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and

grammatical mistakes. Spell check alone is not sufficient.

_____ 9. I have tested all of my links to make sure they work properly.

_____ 10. I have formatted my pages carefully to make sure indentations, spacing, and

alignment contribute to a well-organized and attractive page.

_____ 11. Links that take visitors to another site open in a new tab, but links that go to

another part of our site do not open a new tab.

_____ 12. All of my information and images are properly cited on my Works Cited Subpage. Citations are easy to read, and there are spaces between each individual citation.
