Copyright

Copyright refers to laws designed to protect the creator of original works by limiting the ways in which others may use what they have created. The laws governing copyright appear complex and difficult to understand, so we use a site designed to clarify them, Copyright Kids. Although there are lots of restrictions created by copyrights, the doctrine of "Fair Use" enables us to employ many of the works made by others for educational purposes. In class we learn about copyright and will do our best to use only resources permitted by law.

When searching for images, I encourage you to use the advanced search feature available in Google Images by clicking on Settings, Advanced search. Select the filter for usage rights, and choose free to use or share. The images that come up will be available for our purposes.

For informational sources and images, remember to cite your sources using Easybib. You can then include a sub-page entitled Works Cited, where you can list your bibliographic citations. When you are working on other documents you can include a similar Works Cited sections at the end.
