Cell Trading Cards
Directions:
Go to the 6th grade project section of TheScienceQueen.net website. Click on Cell Trading Cards. All the links you need to complete this project are provided.
1. Research the various organelles and complete the Cell Research Handout.
2. Cell Organelle Trading Card Assignment
- Your assignment is to make a “trading card” for each cell organelle (make one for each cell organelle on your Cell Research handout).
- The trading card will feature a picture of the organelle at the top and information about it at the bottom. Then, you will compare the organelle to a part of your school.
- Here’s where you use your Cell Organelle Research Handout. The information underneath the picture should include:
- The name of your organelle.
b. Where it is found.
c. What it does.
d. Something in a school that performs the same function.
Use the Trading Card Template on the Cell Trading Cards webpage. First open the document, then under file, make a copy. Save it in your google drive as Cell Trading Cards. (Add your name to the file name.)
PLEASE NOTE: The information that you use for the text part of your trading cards MUST BE IN YOUR OWN WORDS! DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT cut and paste text. Plagiarism (copying other people’s work and claiming it as your own) is NEVER ACCEPTABLE!!!
CHOICE
You will have a choice between making the trading cards and creating a webpage to display your information. If you choose to create a webpage, go to the appropriate group site (Orange or Green). Next create a page with an appropriate title including your first name (No last names please.) under Science Cells. Make your page a subpage from this page. If you choose to make the trading cards, use the template below.
