Dear Student Athletes,
Another year of Colonie High School Tennis is upon us. We will be holding tryouts for the fall season on: Monday, August 14h; Tuesday, August 15th, and Wednesday, August 16th from 2:30 P.M. - 4:30 P.M. For those selected to be on either the Junior Varsity (should we have enough girls) or Varsity team, practice will continue to be from 2:30 P.M. - 4:30 P.M. on weekdays (on non-match days) until the school year begins. Our first match will be against Niskayuna on Monday, August 28th at 11:00 A.M. (Players will need to be on the CCHS courts by 10:00am) Once the school year begins, practice sessions will be held from 3:00-5:00. In the event of rain, the coach will be notifying the team captain, and she will be using an App to notify the rest of the team.
Please be prepared for tryouts with a racquet, water bottle, and appropriate attire. If you have a “self-administer” type medication such as an inhaler or Epi-Pen, please be sure to have completed the appropriate form at the heath office and advise the coach of the location of your medicine.
In addition, if you have not already done so, please make sure you have been cleared by the health office prior to tryouts. Turn in your health history and physical forms prior to Aug 11, at the Lisha Kill Middle School Health Office or at the sports form drop box located in the main lobby of Colonie High School. If you are not cleared, you may not tryout.
It will also be necessary for you to complete the on-line "Pre Try-Out Survey" Link to complete pre-try-out survey Should you not have internet access, student athletes should request a paper copy of this document on the first day of try-outs.

Common question: What if my family has planned a vacation between August 14th and the first day of school?
Answer: The first week of practice is when skills are assessed by the coach and positions in our line up are established. If you are not present, you risk losing a position in the line-up. Players that are not in the line up typically play "exhibition matches" against the teams that also have exhibition players.
