The boys and girls from 2nd class up to 6th class recently explored the are of staying safe online. A representative of Zeeko , a company that specializes  in education people about how to stay safe online recently visited our school.

Prior to the visit every pupils from 2nd up to 6th completed a 10 minute survey where they chose what apps they use, what age they started using the internet and also completed a number of questions that gauges peoples attitudes to aspects of using internet technology.

On Mon 16th April Jackie from Zeeko visited the school and worked with the pupils in their class groupings.  They explored the results of the survey, discussed technology, listed the benefits and potential dangers of being online and also explored the importance of being responsible behavior online.

Many of the boys and girls were surprised at how much of our data gets shared online and indeed how easily it can be shared.  The teachers of the school met Jackie after school and the parents then turned out in huge numbers that night for an information session.

Overall it was a very interesting day and we thank Jackie from Zeeko for highlighting many of the issues that come with technology. A huge thank you to parents for showing uo in such huge numbers on the night.

The following were amongst the guidelines that were given to the children and their parents.
