Offaly Cuman na mBunscoil recently held a Sports Quiz and 27 teams from around the county took part. We are delighted to announce that Scoil Shinchill came in 2nd place. This is a fantastic achievement. Well done to the pupils concerned.
We welcomed John Burns of Tullamore RFC today. John will be doing Tag rugby with pupils from 4th to 6th classes until Christmas. Tag Rugby is always one of the most enjoyable sessions for our pupils and we are grateful to John and Tullamore RFC for joining us.
Pupils from 2nd to 6th class enjoyed a soccer Skills session recently courtesy of the FAI. Thanks a million to coach John O'Connor for putting the kids through their paces. The FAI have very kindly donated 4 more futsal balls for our collection. This follows on from a donation of footballs and teaching resources in October.
There was disappointment for our two football teams in O'Connor Park yesterday as both our boys and girls football teams lost their finals. Both teams had put in a lot of work this year and had high hopes going into yesterday's games. However sport can be cruel and despite their best efforts both games ended in defeat. We are very proud of both teams and hopefully there will be brighter days ahead for these young footballers. We wish to thank everyone who helped out with both teams this year. Thanks also to Offaly Cuman na mBunscoil for organising a great occasion in O'Connor Park.
