  • Visit to Ericsson Athlone  The boys and girls of 5th class visited telecom giant Ericsson in Athlone today. First of all Jerome told us all about hacking and how Ericsson use hacking to test their systems. We were also introduced to a past pupil Sean Kelly who is on work experience in Ericsson at the moment. He told us all about how he loves coding and how he is currently studying in Athlone IT. Sinead gave a presentation to the boys and girls all about the work of Ericsson worldwide and what they do .   • Peace Proms Concert Pupils from 4th class recently traveled to the RDS for the Peace Proms concert. They had put a lot of hard work in all year practising the songs and learning the moves that accompany each song. Thankfully all their hard work paid off and it was a very enjoyable occasion.

  • Grandparents Day It was a bright and sunny morning that greeted one of the most popular events in killeigh this morning. Postponed last week due to unfavorable weather, grandparents arrived to St Patrick's church killeigh to celebrate mass with the boys and girls of killeigh national School. This was followed by a visit to the children's classrooms where  Grandparents shared all the wisdom they've accumulated over the years.  After all of this hard work they were treated to  tea and coffee and refreshments courtesy of our fantastic parents association.We wish to thank father John for all his help in organising the mass and we also wish to thank our parents association for all of their hard work and ...

  • Grandparents Day rescheduled We are delighted to announce the Grandparents Day has been rescheduled to this Thursday the 7th of February. We will attend mass together at 10 and this will be followed at 11 by visits to the children's classrooms. Tea and coffee will be served afterwards in the school hall.
