What you need:

  • recording device such as an iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad (your own or a friend's)

  • If you need to borrow a recording device, see Ms. Dowd.

Before you begin:

  • Write a script and plan out your video on a storyboard.

  • Think about the placement and angle of the camera.

  • Have your props ready.

  • Think about the examples shown in class. How can you make yours that good?

  • What do you want your viewers to learn by the end of your video?

  • When recording your video:

    • speak clearly and loudly

    • use slow steady motions to move the camera

  3. Upload your video to YouTube as an UNLISTED video - see instructions below

  4. Embed your video and put other required information in your ePortfolio - instructions

How to upload your video to YouTube

This tutorial will show you how to upload a video on your Apple iOS device to YouTube.

Go to your camera roll and choose the video you want to upload. Then click the "send to" icon in the upper right and choose "Send to YouTube".

Sign in with your SAS YouTube account.

Add video details (title, description, tags).

Choose Unlisted and then click "Publish" in the upper right corner. (This is VERY IMPORTANT because it will allow your teachers to see your videos.)

Click "View on YouTube" to view your video.

When you are finished, make sure to click "Sign Out" if you are not using your own personal device.
