Employability Skills Assessment - We ask all employers to assess Co-op students on a regular basis. Identifying specific employability skills that could use some work is an important aspect of the Co-op program.
Students on unpaid work experiences are covered by RVTC's insurance policy. Download or View a copy of a letter from our insurance company to learn more. Students on paid work experiences are required by law to have their Workers Comp Insurance covered by the employer.
Because all work-based learning experiences are considered learning opportunities and not 'jobs', employers are not required to pay unemployment insurance. Student-learners cannot collect unemployment at the end of the learning experience.
