DAY OF THE JOB SHADOW INSTRUCTIONS

• Show up on time – arrive 10-15 minutes early! If you are sick or having a problem, call your host immediately to inform him/her you will be late or unable to attend.
• Be polite, and try to make a good impression for yourself and the tech center.
• When you arrive, introduce yourself and ask for the person you will be shadowing. While you are introducing yourself to your host, shake his/her hand.
• Listen carefully and observe.
• It's OK to share a little about yourself, but don't talk too much.
• Never ask for a job.
• At the appropriate time, ask questions.
• Demonstrate good manners and language. Do not chew gum. Leave your electronic devices in the car!
• When the visit is over, shake your hosts’ hand and thank them for the job shadow opportunity.
