Career success requires both training and experience. RVTC’s career & technical programs provide world class training, but you can only go so far in a classroom; at some point you need to apply your skills and knowledge in the real world. The Cooperative Education (Co-op) Program provides a variety of work-based learning experiences for RVTC's students.

Work-experiences can be:

  • Paid or unpaid (unpaid work experiences often lead to paid jobs!)

  • As short as an hour or two long, or a 'full-shift' (8 hours or more)

  • As short as one day (one-time job shadow) or as long as a school year.

  • During your class time (with your teacher's permission!) or any other time you are able to work, including weekends.

Why?

  • To explore career options

  • To learn a skill or trade

  • To gain experience (for an apprenticeship or resume)

  • To network with future potential employers

  • To make money (maybe)!
