RVTC’s career and technical programs prepare students for a variety of careers in our region. But classroom education can only go so far; students need to apply their skills and knowledge in a real world setting. Cooperative Education (Co-op) is an extension of the academic and technical training given at the technical center. The Co-op Program works with local employers, students and the technical center teachers to create learning opportunities for students in the workforce. The Co-op program places students with entry-level skills in work-based learning opportunities related to their career area of training experience. While they learn, students can earn a wage, gain career experience, develop self-confidence and acquire general employability skills.
