Military Information

What is the military? In simple terms, the U.S. Armed Forces are made up of the five armed service branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy. There are three general categories of military people: active duty (full-time soldiers and sailors), reserve & guard forces (usually work a civilian job, but can be called to full-time military duty), and veterans and retirees (past members of the military).

Summer Seminar kick-starts your Naval Academy application by giving you a taste of life at the Academy. For one week in June, you will experience first-class academic, athletic, and professional training while building lifelong friendships with campers from all over the world.

Current 11th graders can apply for this program.

Summer STEM at the Naval Academy is a vibrant week of problem-solving, exploratory learning, critical thinking, and team building for students interested in a future in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Current 8th - 10th graders can apply for this program.

Reserves Montgomery GI Bill: Up to $15,804, distributed over 36-72 months, depending on your enrollment status.
- $439/month for full-time students (36 months)
- $329/month for ¾ time students (48 months)
- $219/month for ½ time students (72 months)
GI Bill Kicker: Additional $100 - $350 per month on top of the GI Bill.
Cash Enlistment Bonus: Up to $20,000 for critical jobs, paid throughout the term of enlistment.
Student Loan Repayment Program: Up to $50,000 towards student loan repayment.
