This month our main goal is to make the children feel confident, comfortable and happy in their new school environment.

Theme: Apples/Colors

Concepts:

- name recognition

- printing names

- colors

- draw, cut, glue

- rhyming

- patterning

-counting

• We will be starting an Apple theme. We will be using apples in math (patterning and counting), in language arts we will read about apples, label apples and create our names with apples. At the end of the month, we will bake with apples!

• The students will be working toward recognizing and naming colors. We will be learning about one color each week. On Thursdays, students can wear and bring a snack for themselves associated with the week’s color.

Ideas for snacks:

red- apples, strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, red peppers, jello, yogurt

yellow- pudding, pineapple, apples, yellow peppers, banana, cheese, apple sauce

green- apples, peas, green pepper, kiwi, grapes, celery, broccoli
