Tohutohu: Directions and commands

Outcome: to engage new entrance students in simple directions in te reo Māori

Learning strands: Whakarongo (Listening comprehension) Whakaatu (display/enact)

Learning method: The Kaiako will give a series of commands and model the commands to the students in which they will display the actions.

e.g:

· E tū – stand up

· E noho – Sit down

· E peke – Jump

· E oma – Run

· E Paki – Clap

· E Huri – Turn

· E Moe – Sleep

· E Oho – Wake up

· E neke – move

Conclude the lesson with the song that uses the words to reinforce the language and its usage
