Teacher is Leaving

If the teacher is leaving the school, the cleanest solution is to close the blog comments down.

Closing the blog comments down is NOT deleting it.

This is the difference...

Closing the blog commenting down

preserves the content as a web page. It will be read-only and no one can leave comments. This means that no one needs to worry about administering it in the future. The tagging is preserved for the students' record of learning.

The ability to log on and administer this blog must be left with the school though as part of protecting the students' rights into the future eg if in five years time a teenager hated the photo of themselves posted at 9 years of age and asked for it to be removed.

Option One

This one will hide all the past comments as well as any future ones. It could be disappointing for some students who want to be able to see all the feedback they received

Option Two

This one will show all the past comments but only allows blog members to comment in the future. As there WONT be any blog members, there will be no new comments

Deleting the blog

would remove the record of student work permanently. This would be very sad when we have worked hard for a year to develop a digital record of the students' learning.
