E-Resources

Do you need to complete research for your school assessments and need access to journal articles? Then the place to go is "Research resources" on our eLibrary webpage.

Once you have clicked on the Research resources link you will be taken to the CEDP Research Resources Databases site which is managed by Ebscohost. Here you will find all the databases that the Parramatta Diocese subscribes to.

There is a wide range of databases that you may find useful.

If you aren't quite sure what to search for, sometimes a good place to start is to click on the "Ebsco Host" option.

This then allows you to click on a search bar that you can search across all databases at the same time.

Simply click on the box that says "Select / deselect all" and then click on "Continue".

You now can search for what you are looking for using the search bar.

Below you can see a search result for Herculaneum. This basic search has returned 1,170 possible items. Way too many!!!

You can refine your search using the modifiers on the left-hand side of the page.

Refine your results:

  • Choose to include only 'Peer reviewed' articles (those articles that have been reviewed by experts in their fields).

  • Limit the publication dates. As you can see from this search it includes articles from 1911 to 2021. You might only want to select your dates so that it makes it more relevant for your research, that is, choose only more recent publications.

  • Choose to limit your search from specific sources, eg newspapers, magazines articles, journals articles, etc.

If you need any help with searching the databases or can't find what you are looking for, remember you can always Ask a Librarian.
