Class Set Books

As part of the Year 7 to 10 English curriculum, students will occasionally need to read set novels supplied by the school from our Class Set collection. These books are loaned out with a longer due date period and usually the whole class, and in some instances, the whole year group, will read the same novel.

Rules about borrowing Class Set Novels

1 Once you have your novel, you will need to write your name on the borrowing slip inside the book, next to the due date. We ask that you do this because as your whole class, or sometimes year group, borrows the same title, the books can sometimes be mixed between students, this way you can check that the copy you have is the one that you borrowed.

2 The book is your responsibility to look after, just like any other Gilroy Library book. If you cause damage to the book so it cannot be loaned out to another student, or if you accidentally lose the book, you will need to pay for its replacement.

3 The book must be returned by the due date. If you do not return it by the due date you will not be able to borrow any other book and you will put yourself at risk of further discipline.

4 If you forget your book at home and you need it for class, unfortunately, we cannot loan you another copy. You cannot borrow more than 1 Class Set novel at any time.
