e-Books

Students and staff have access to an amazing collection of electronic books (eBooks) and audiobooks. There are two platforms available for staff and students to access these eBooks - SORA by Overdrive, or Wheelers.

Both of these platforms can be accessed via our eLibrary. Click on the "Students ebooks & audiobooks" link located on the left-hand side.

Students might choose to access these platforms via Apps as well. The eBooks may be downloaded and read on various devices including Apple iPads, iPhones, and laptops. Android-based phones, tablets and laptops also allow downloads. Some Windows-based devices also support SORA Overdrive and Wheelers.

Sora (Overdrive)

If you select SORA by Overdrive, you will need to choose "ACEN" as your school.

You may also access SORA by using the Overdrive app that can be installed from the Apple store or if you are using an Android device, from the Google Play Store.

When logging in, add ACEN (Australian Catholic Education Network) as your library and use your student email address sign-in information to access your account.

If you need any help don't forget you can always Ask a Librarian.

Once logged into SORA, you have access to a wide range of Fiction and Non-fiction eBooks and audiobooks. You can simply search by title, author, or subject as you would the normal Library Catalogue.

There are also curated booklists that might help you find what you are looking for - HSC English texts, Manga or Graphic Novels, YA (Young Adult), Easy Reads. Just scroll down the front of the SORA page to see all the options.

Once you have decided which ebook or audiobook you want to borrow, simply click on the book cover, then click on the "Borrow" option. This will then give you the book and add it to your "Digital Bookshelf". If there is a book that you want and it is not available at the moment, you can place it on hold, and you will receive an email once the book becomes available.

You may borrow up to 3 books for up to 21 days from SORA at any time.

Once you have finished with the book, it is very easy to return it via the website or app. Simply log-in to your account, find the book, and click return. The book will be automatically returned once it has reached the due date.
