Do I have to find my own placement?

No, it is your Co-op teachers responsibility to find you a placement. However, you should be making suggestions regarding the type of placement you would like and its location. If you have a specific business in mind, give that information to you Co-op teacher. The acceptance of the placement will be based upon the successful completion of a Placement Assessment.
