In 1874 he emigrated to New York City.
The 1879 Brooklyn Directory lists a Constantin Witt living at 5 Willoughby, New York, as a bar keeper. It is not yet clear if this is our Constantin Witt since there seems to have been another man of the same name living in New York at the same time.
In 1884 he married Wilhelmina.
The 1891 New York City Directory lists him living at 341 East 86th Street, New York and working as an agent.

In the March 1892 issue of Der Philatelist, Constantin Witt and Rudolf F. Albrecht published an advertisement that they were partners in a stamp shop at 90 Nassau Street, New York.
In the 1905 State Census he was living at 74 Cornell Avenue, Westchester, Yonkers, New York and listed as a collector.
In 1910, the U. S. Census lists him living at 74 Cornell Avenue, Westchester, Yonkers, as a stamp dealer and employer living with his wife Wilhelmina, and three sons William (1890-19) Herman (1902-19), and Herbert (1904-19).
