Clarence Brinton Fargo (1879-1976), was born on April 20, 1879 at Frenchtown, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, son of Frank Benjamin Fargo (1833-1902), and Christina Anna Hunt Fargo (1860-1907).

In 1900, Fargo worked as a bookkeeper for a lamp-works factory living at his family home 104 Hanover Street, Trenton, New Jersey.
Clarence Brinton Fargo was a successful mail order stamp broker acting as a clearinghouse selling stamps, revenues, postage due stamps, and postal stationery in bulk or bundleware. This letter addressed to John Leckner of Trenton, New Jersey relates his selling methods. August 23, 1900 sent to John Leckner, Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. Corner card, flag cancel.
On June 23, 1908 he married Lotta Ella Sinclair (1888-1952), daughter of Albert Sinclair.
In 1910 the U.S. Census lists him living with his wife Lotta and his sister Beatrice M. Fargo [Errickson] (1899-1979) five brother : Wilbur S. Fargo (1886-1950), Leslie A. Fargo (1889-1931), Raymond J. Fargo (1891-1961), Charles Newton Fargo (1895-1969) and Chester Arthur Fargo (1899-1979).
In 1918 he had a daughter Reba Mae Fargo who died in infancy.
The 1940 U.S. Census lists him as a dealer in garden supplies and fertilizer living with his wife Lotta, and three daughters : Edith (1912-2006), Marian G Gargo (1916-2010), and Marjorie S. Fargo (1921-2009).
Clarence Brinton Fargo died on April 3, 1976, at age 97 years old.
