JH Jazz Band

REHEARSALS:  The North Butler Junior High Jazz Band is a unit of the JH Concert Band and rehearses during the day. Students who wish to learn a jazz instrument or play in the rhythm section will have opportunities to practice before school. JH Band members will perform their jazz selections at the JH Variety Show or Jazz Coffeehouse and also for the NCIBA Middle School Jazz Clinic.  

PERFORMANCES:  All JH Band members perform at the Junior High Variety Show at 7:00 p.m. on Thurs., February 27th, changed to the Jazz Coffeehouse at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, at the NBHS Old Gym as a jazz band. Students will also attend the NCIBA Middle School Jazz Festival on March 13 moved to Thursday, March 6, in Belmond.  More on this as details become available. 

UNIFORM:  Band members wear the NBJH blue/gold shirts (provided) with dark/navy pants (nice jeans are acceptable) for jazz band performances.  Avoid the distressed/ripped out look in pants and shoes that may not blend in with a uniform look.
