How to acquire an instrument:
Click on the one of the web link above to complete an online rental agreement. You can call them directly or walk into either store. I recommend adding the insurance option.
Look on local "For Sale" groups for an instrument.
Check with a family or friends.
Ask Mrs. Brackett about the availability of school-owned instruments.
Avoid purchasing from a box store (Walmart) or online from far distances.
What to do if your child's instrument needs repair:
Representatives from both of these music stores visit North Butler each week. The rep will pick up your instrument in the band room. Make sure the name tag is completed with current contact information. Remove any reeds, oil, or personal items and put them in a bag or in the loaner instrument, if provided. The music store repair technician will assess what work is needed. Then, someone from the store will contact you with options for repair and the estimated cost. You may pay over the phone with a credit or debit card. You can ask to arrange for the store rep to pick up cash or check at school, but payment must be made before the instrument is repaired. After the repair, the music rep will bring the instrument back to school. If you prefer, you can take and/or pick up the instrument yourself.
What if my child needs a lesson book, reeds, oil or other supplies?
You can purchase items directly from the store online or by phone, and they will bring your order to the school! Hint: The music stores often have supply sales in September and January.
When purchasing resale items from the school, your child can ask how much money to bring for what is needed. Send a check payable to North Butler Schools. Include a note with the name of the student and what the money is to purchase. If bringing cash, send exact change, if possible, and place it in an envelope along with the note.
If you are near one of the stores, you can stop in and make your purchase directly.
