PROFESSIONAL STAFF POSITIONS
The Board of Education may, upon the recommendation of the superintendent, employ professional staff, assistant principals, principals, directors and other supervisory personnel as may berequired for the accreditation of the schools and to accomplish the district's goals and objectives.
The term "professional staff ' will be used to designate positions that legally require a certificate issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) or that havebeen designated by the district as "professional" positions in the relevant job descriptions. Positions not designated as "professional" will be considered "support staff ' positions for thepurposes of Board policies.
The superintendent will maintain a comprehensive and current set of job descriptions for all positions in the district. Job descriptions shall be available in the office of the superintendentduring regular business hours.
The superintendent or designee shall have general responsibility for coordinating the employment of all professional staff and maintaining adequate personnel records. The superintendent ordesignee will assign all professional staff one or more immediate supervisors who will provide training, direction and performance evaluations.
