Work Authorization/Visa Process for Full-Time Faculty

As soon as you have signed and returned your contract, contact your school representative to initiate the University's request to obtain an appropriate work authorization/visa.

Your school representative will request that the University obtain appropriate U.S. work authorization status. As part of that process, you will be asked to provide relevant information. In general, you will work directly with your school representative above. The process usually takes about three months unless the request is expedited. Once work authorization status is approved, you will receive a packet from the General Counsel's Office. Those outside the U.S. when work authorization is approved must obtain a visa in order to enter the U.S. and related information is provided in the packet that will be sent to you. Those already in the U.S. when work authorization is approved can begin working in line with the authorization but must obtain a related travel visa on your first trip outside the country.
