Interactive Drawings

Your Job: Create a contour line drawing using pencil and sharpie on paper. Think creatively to make a drawing that can be photographed using your iPad to make it look like it is interacting with real objects or people. For example, in the photo to the left, the drawing of the dog is photographed with the artists' hand making it look like its chomping on their finger. Cool, right?

Here's How:

  1. Brainstorm ideas of simple drawings (animals, plants, motor vehicles, people, school supplies, etc.) YOU MAY NOT COPY ANY OF THE EXAMPLES THAT YOU SEE HERE

  2. Gather resources to help you draw your idea. Look at books in the art library or do an image search.

  3. Brainstorm ideas of how your drawing could interact with a real object in a photograph, like the picture above. The drawing of a dog is interacting with the hand. (You may NOT show your face in the picture)

  4. Draw your drawing on blank white paper. Paper is located in the box labeled "BLANK COPY PAPER" under the clay bulletin board. Use only pencil or sharpie marker. No color please. Think about your composition (how your drawing is placed on the page) and how it will work in a photograph.

  5. Finish your drawing and set up your photo shoot.

  6. Open the camera on your iPad and frame your shot. Center your subject matter (your drawing interacting with the object) and take the picture. Take a few and select the best one. You should have one finished photograph saved to your camera roll. Remember, your face CAN NOT be in the photo.

  7. Share your photo with Mrs. Krantz via Google Drive:

    1. Open Drive.

    2. Click the "+" sign in the upper right-hand corner.

    3. Select "Upload Photo"

    4. Choose the photo from your camera roll.

    5. The file will appear in your Drive.

    6. Rename it with your name and cluster number, for example: MarissaKrantz2
