MBMS 7/8 Orchestra

The Mt. Blue Middle School Orchestra includes grade 7 and 8 students, and meets on "Gold" days during period 1 from 7:50-8:35 am.
(and later on L.A.W. days). We explore a variety of string orchestra styles, and work on sharpening the fundamentals necessary to becoming a solid orchestral player.

Concert Dress Code:
As any athletic team wears a uniform during competition, music ensembles are also expected to wear the required “uniform” during performances. All student musicians are required to wear black pants or long dresses, and white tops. Any family who needs assistance with this clothing requirement should contact the music department immediately.

Orchestra Sectionals:
Each 7/8 Orchestra Student has a sectional lesson on either Monday, Thursday or Friday. Schedules have been passed out, and are posted at school.
MMYO - Mid Maine Youth Orchestra is a wonderful program that uses all 4 orchestral families with all of the best music students from our region. There is the full symphonic orchestra for advanced students, and a string consort for less experienced students. Students planning on joining the full orchestra will have to audition. Students that plan on participating in the consort do not have to audition, You can find our more information on MMYO here: www.midmaineyouthorchestra.com

MBMS Franklin County Fiddlers - AKA "Middlers". Mr. Muise will run sessions of the MS Franklin County Fiddlers once again this year. Rehearsals are held on Fridays, from 2:15-3:15. More information about the MS Franklin County Fiddlers, and the start date, will be announced.
