Welcome to the Mt. Blue High School Orchestra!

Our orchestra meets on the stage of the Bjorn Auditorium on the Mt. Blue Campus on every "Blue" day during period 1. Thank you to all of the orchestra students that help with setting up and breaking down our class set-up.   (Thanks to the Mt. Blue Theatre Company too!)

Concert Dress Code:

As any athletic team wears a uniform during competition, music ensembles are also expected to wear the required “uniform” during performances.  All student musicians are required to wear “all black” black shirts or blouses, black slacks and black shoes.   Any family who needs assistance with this clothing requirement should contact the music department right away, we have some options for you.

There are many other opportunities for further musical enrichment:

MMYO - Mid Maine Youth Orchestra is a wonderful program that uses all 4 orchestral families with all of the best music students from our region.   This is a full symphonic orchestra for advanced students.   You can find our more information on MMYO here:   www.midmaineyouthorchestra.com  (Audition forms are due soon - you can download the forms at the above MMYO website)

MMEA Maine All State Orchestra - This is a music festival that auditions and accepts only the best musicians from around the State of Maine.    Please view the http://www.mainemmea.org/auditions/ page for audition requirements and more details.  Mr. Muise can help you with your All State Audition materials, and it is also recommended that you work with a private teacher as well.

Franklin County Fiddlers - a "multi-stylistic fiddle band" founded and directed by Steve Muise.   Please visit our dedicated FCF webpage at:   www.franklincountyfiddlers.com   (Website being updated).
