Assignment information:
Feb. 26, 2026
All grade 6 students have the following assignment, due on Thursday, March 12 at orchestra class. Practice with each of our songs with the YouTube videos provided, 10 times each.
10 times for Moonlight Tango (2:20) and 10 times for Burst! (1:30) (at minimum, more is good!)
Tips:
You can play the videos a little more slowly by changing the settings if you need to.
Also: It has been a challenge for some students to access YouTube on their ipads, so I’m including a QR code that can be scanned, and then you’ll have a link to this google document that you can use to access the videos and form to sign on any device.
This document will also be the paper that you hand in with your parent/guardian signature so you can get a grade for doing the work. (I’ll have paper copies next week)
Grading scale:
100 = proof that you’ve practiced along with each song 10 times.
90 = proof that you’ve practiced along with each song 9 times.
80 = proof that you’ve practiced along with each song 8 times.
70 = proof that you’ve practiced along with each song 7 times - below will be: 60
Technology exception - IF you have connection issues or access, you can still complete the assignment by providing proof that you’ve practiced each song 10 times. (Please still turn in a signed paper).
Links are on the next page, but here’s the part where you’ll have your parent/guardian sign for your grade. Return this paper (or you can submit it on google classroom digitally if you’d like)
In orchestra class on or before Thursday, March. 12.

Students may often ask - what do I practice, or how do I practice? These reference videos should help each student learn their parts in order to play with confidence at our upcoming concert. Music if for a lifetime!
Any questions:
Thank you! See you all at our concert on March 12 at the High School! (students arrive at 6:30, the concert starts at 7:00 pm).
Concert Dress Code:
As any athletic team wears a uniform during competition, music ensembles are also expected to wear the required “uniform” during performances. All student musicians are required to wear black pants or long dresses, and white tops. Any family who needs assistance with this clothing requirement should contact the music department immediately.
