Economic Impacts
Infected people may get sick frequently due to reduced immunity, resulting in lowered productivity in the workforce or at schools.
This in turn results in loss of personal income and decreased personal wealth (due to medical treatments), which can affect a country’s rate of development.
The government may also need to set aside more resource allocation for medical infrastructure and related expenditure, hence reducing the funds available for other areas of development, such as education and infrastructure (roads, etc.).
In the long term, this may have further negative impact on the country’s people and its skilled workforce, which could further limit a country’s economic development.
