We had some fun with fruit / potato batteries during our recent Science lesson!

1. Why was an LED light used instead of a light bulb?

2. Will the LED light up if the zinc & copper stripes are not inserted into the fruits? Why?

3. Why are two different types of metals (zinc & copper stripes) used?

Will the LED lit up if two identical metals are used instead?
