Dear boys,
Just a gentle reminder once again...
These are the scenarios to AVOID when you are setting up your circuits for your Performance Task in a week's time.
Not acceptable: Switch at a junction of 3 or more wires
Not acceptable: Bulb at a junction of 3 wires or more
This is acceptable: 3 Wires at a junction (Especially when the bulbs are arranged in parallel)
Organised layout and neatness
There is a bonus mark awarded if your set-up is neat and flow of electricity can be easily traced by observation.
It is also a lot easier to check your answers when your set-up is neat and systematic.
DO strive to get this one bonus mark. :)
Messy arrangement of components and overlapping wires
Common misconceptions
1. Electrons are used up (or disappear) when they leave a load such as a light bulb (or any other electrical appliance).
Fact: Electrons do not disappear. They will continue to move in the wires as long as the circuit remains closed.
2. As the light bulb fuses, the circuit is now broken.
Fact: Circuit is open.
Cheers,
Mrs Ng
