 Sample Quarter 1 Team Timeline

 

Team Members: Sally Fields, Tom Cruise, Meg Ryan, Harrison Ford

Timeline Duration: Quarter 1: August 2011—November 2011

Goal Selected:Writing and vocabulary instruction will be an expectation by all teachers in all grades and subject levels to increase our students’ ability to communicate through writing.

Team Objectives:

1. All team members will participate in the writing workshop scheduled for the November Early Release day.

2. Our team will work on consistency with essential outcomes and common assessments.

August 30 — Meet with building principal and complete goal setting sheet on Google Docs.

Morning of September 22(sub-release) — Meeting with building principal and Dir of C/I to discuss the learning objectives and common assessments for Quarter 1.

September 29 Early Release — Review Professional Development Calendar and create and post our timeline on Google Docs.

October 6 before school — Meet with Laura Lundy to discuss our goal and timeline.

November 8 Early Release — Participate in the Writing Workshop and create our timeline for Quarter 2.

 

Sample Quarter 2 Team Timeline

Timeline Duration: Quarter 2: November 2011 — January 2012

Goal Selected:

Writing and vocabulary instruction will be an expectation by all teachers in all grades and subject levels to increase our students’ ability to communicate through writing.

 

Team Objectives:

1. All team members will participate in the Writing Workshop on Writing Rubics scheduled for the January Inservice day.

2. Our team will work on consistency with essential outcomes and common assessments.

3. All team members will meet at least once a month to discuss implementation of writing ideas.

Afternoon of November 10(sub-release) —- Meeting with building principal and Dir of C/I to discuss the learning objectives and common assessments for Quarter 2

November 17 — Prep period meeting to start discussion of selecting number and types of writing assignments we will assign each quarter, starting with Quarter 3.

December 1 — Finish selection of writing assignments for Quarter 3

December 15 — Collect writing samples.

January 19 — Meeting with building principal and Dir of C/I to discuss the learning objectives and common assessments for Quarter 3.

January 27 Inservice — Participate in the school-wide selection of a writing rubric and create time for Quarter 3.
