Guidelines

 TIME

Time allotted to each Team Goal is flexible. It is up to the team to decide how long to spend on completing each goal and to communicate to administration through a team-created timeline the team’s plan on how and when activities will be completed. The timeline can be done yearly, quarterly, or by semester depending on the team’s preference.

PLC time will be used to complete team goals, but other time (as directed by the team) can be allotted. This time can be before school, after school, during school, inservice, online learning.

In conjunction with the three team goals, each principal will provide teachers a list of Building Expectations (administration goal). Time to discuss, support and learn about these expectations will be allotted during staff meetings and inservice times.

 ACCOUNTABILITY

Team Accountability:

Each team member will be expected to be on time and be present at the end of each meeting

PLC times run from 2:10—3:40 p.m.

Each meeting needs an agenda; however, these do not need to be turned into administration.

Team learning logs are no longer required. Instead, each quarter during a scheduled meeting time*, teams will meet with their building principal and/or Director of C/I.

*This scheduled time can be sub-released time, before or after school, during an early release day, or during a depart- ment or grade level meeting, depending on the team’s preference.

Each team will be required to report out informally to the entire group by building each year. The date of this report-out will vary by team, as it will be decided upon in collaboration with the team’s administrator and the team.

Individual Accountability:

Staff members will be held accountable for achieving the team goal and the building goal through informal observations and the formal evaluation process.

 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Teams are required to participate in at least one professional development opportunity for each of  the three district goals over the next five years. Depending on need, these opportunities will be offered multiple times and in multiple formats to attempt to accommodate teachers’ schedules. Teams can divide into smaller teams and attend different professional development opportunities, depending on the need.

The professional development calendar will be created based off of the goals and professional development opportunities that teams request each year.  The 2011-2012 calendar will be available by the September Early Release day; however, subsequent years will be available by the August in service day. See page 4 for professional development topics related to each goal.
