Indiana College Core
Indiana College Core
Do you want to get a head start on college? The Indiana College Core allows high school students to earn 30 general education credits that can be transferred as a block to any public college or university in Indiana, as well as some private institutions. In other words, students who earn the College Core in high school may already be finished with their first year of college at a fraction of the cost. To learn more about the Indiana College Core and put together your plan, use My College Core (mycollegecore.org) and work closely with your school counselor.
Northridge is proud to be one of the few schools in Indiana who are able to award the Indiana College Core. The Indiana College Core consists of 30+ semester hours of credit, the completion of which at one public institution means it can transfer as a block and count as satisfying the Indiana College Core equivalent at the receiving institution.
The Indiana College Core is based on competencies and learning outcomes in six areas:
Written Communication
Speaking & Listening
Quantitative Reasoning
Scientific Ways of Knowing
Social & Behavioral Ways of Knowing
Humanistic and Artistic Ways of Knowing.
