Similar to ancient Greece (mountains, peninsula) yet different (contained Po river and Tiber river), this civilization began along the shores of the Tiber river in Rome under the guidance, according to legend, of the twin brothers - Romulus and Remus. The world's first republic would grow to become the world's largest empire under the reign of young Octavian (aka "Augustus"). He would accomplish (the "Pax Romana" - 200 years of Roman Peace) what his uncle (Julius Cesaer) had envisioned but had only barely started when he declared himself "dictator for life".
